Multicultural Greek Council 2006 - 2007

Welcome to the Multicultural Greek Council

Hello!

There are over 60 fraternities and sororities at Ohio State. In 2004, Greek Life invited non PHA, IFC, and NPHC chapters the chance to come together and form their own council here at Ohio State. By May 2004, six culturally based chapters had formed the Multicultural Greek Council and a seventh joined in February 2005. In less than two years, Ohio State’s Multicultural Greek Council has had steady attendance from the seven chapter delegates, held a cultural showcase and have started holding fundraising and community service events.

In comparison to the other governing councils at OSU, these achievements may not seem that monumental. However, MCGC is very proud of every little step we take together as a council towards fulfilling our mission of working together to enhance our Greek experience by placing an emphasis on academics, cultural diversity and service to the community. Each of the seven MCGC chapters has traditions that exemplify their beliefs in the areas of scholarship, service, leadership and character with the combination of a cultural element.

Alpha Psi Lambda, the nation’s first co-ed Latino interest fraternity founded at Ohio State.

Beta Kappa Gamma, a fraternity that strives for the betterment of the South Asian community.

Delta Lambda Phi, a fraternity that was founded by gay men- but welcomes all men.

Kappa Phi Lambda, a sorority that acts as a pillar of strength for Asian American women.

Omega Tau Zeta, an Asian American sorority that serves as a guiding light for the Asian community.

Pi Delta Psi, a fraternity that strives to unite and motivate the Asian American community.

Sigma Epsilon Phi, a co-ed Greek Orthodox fraternity.
